Track wheel help

  RSC 182 Cup
Me and some mates have narrowed down a track wheel and tire setup for our 182Cup's to one of the following:

a 205/50/R15 on a 15 x 6.5 rim
or
a 215/50/R15 on a 15 x 6.5 rim
or
a 215/45/R15 on a 15 x 7 rim

Anyway, im not too keen on just taking the suppliers word on the best setup so I'm hoping you guys can help us out.

BTW, The tyre we will most likely use is the Hoosier R6 slick.

3 wheeling Aussie style!

you should be sticking to the 205/45/16 setup that renault developed for the cup. 172/182's come with 16" wheels.

Ok, so 205's it is.

So what about a 205/45/15 on a 7" rim? Would that be better then a 205/50/15 on either 6.5" or 7" rims or is it too fat for that profile?

whatever you do make sure you use a 7x15 or 7x16 wheel

tyres i would go for 205/50 15 or 205/45 16

oh and be VERY careful with offset, stay between ET42 and ET45 if its a 182

So a 205/45/15 is too low profile on a 7"? I would have thought that for a track wheel the low profile would be good for cornering.

its not always about profile, width is also the important thing

i think you'll find a 205/45 15 is stuidly expensive, IF they even make that size
