i don' do that many track days but have a spare set of wheels at home and am gonna use them for track days..but i need some tyres

now i don't really wanna spend lots of money so what to people advise, can i get cheap semi slicks or shall i just get some cheap crappy tyres

any advice welcome...

cheers neil

I've been using owrn down road tyres, but they aren't ideal, well my eagle F1's have got the point now that they have almost no grip, and are basically slicks.

Its about £400 for a set of 4 semi slicks, so unless you are doing alot of track days its not worth it, depends if you are going on the track to have fun, or if you wanna go fast and push teh car a little bit

I'd just get some good quality normal road tyres and work from there. Slicks etc are good but wait for the wet and they snap quite hard there little margin for error.
I'd get some conti's personally as I like them but F1's are supposed to be superb.

Keep your old road tyres after you chamge them, they are good for atleast 1-2 trackdasy before they become shite

Neil, I've said it many times before...Yokohama A539's!!! If they're for track only, the usual "they're s**t in the wet" comments do not apply.

Dirt cheap from just about anywhere, and for track outings, ideal for a novice IMO as they are very very progressive on the limit.

Cue all the negative comments...

anyone want some used 15inch tyres??? some 195/50's and some 185/55's

they're all legal, some even have 5-6mm tread left!!

Quite possibly Fred, i've got 4 worn down rainsports that will do me for a track day or two, but after that i'll need something, what sorta price we looking at?
