The car in front was a stripped and race prepped 205 GTi with an Mi16 engine conversion and running twin carbs, so a faster car than the Clio, but I did a damn good job of keeping up. :D

When I spun that was at very high speed and it was a deffo brown trouser moment!

After that "wake up call", I cruised back to the paddock to chill for a bit and discovered that one of the front tyres was down to the canvas and the other 3 werent far off either!

Great day though...

Anyone else got any vids of themselves?!

That spin was interesting. Did you go all the way round or just spin a bit and shoot off to the inside?

One thing to remember is: "In a spin, both feet in." Meaning clutch and brake. the clutch just to keep the engine running which is important really only in formula cars, but the brakes should be locked so that you dont all of a sudden start rolling in an unpredicatable direction. When you are locked up, you will follow the course you were on last in a straight line. Quite often it is the safest, but most importantly it is easier for those behind you to avoid you.

Any videos from the ring yet anyone?

Yeah, as soon as it went, both feet jumped on the pedals, it didnt quite go 360 but near enough, then I toom a deep breath, banged it in 1st and booted it off again...

Problem was caused by mailto:sh@gged">sh@gged tyres in this case, but I spun in near as damn it the same place last year when I had my 106 GTi, but it was wet then.

Best thing is, that aint my car! :D
