Great write up mate, and genuine admiration to your blase' attitude to just fixing stuff as you went along as well
Good write up Chip, makes me want to get back over there - long time since my first and only trips....92-93 lol.
Can you put a list of the bits\spares you carried (or wish you carried), also what app's on your laptop to code read.
Thinking I need to be better prepared when racing as I take next to nothing and would be quite stuck if the inevitable happens...
Sorry gaz I'm rubbish with names, what car were you in?
I was in the other 172 cup in blue with white speedline Corse wheels, i was with my mate with the 450bhp corrado, and I was driving the silver 911 turbo and white rs200 ( CL10 JET) on the Tuesday , about 3 garages up from you next to Sunny
Cracking collection of cars you guys had, didn't know the corrado was that power. Got a build thread anywhere for it?
By no means a definitive list but this is what we were carrying:
Starter motor
Both front hubs (with wheel bearings fitted ready to go)
Coilpack
Plugs
Random pipes and hose clips
Throttle body
Brake pads
All fluids
Various bolts
Stiff wire (useful for tieing up and exhast if you need to)
In addition next time we will be taking injectors now too, lol
We use a modified RS Tuner (that takes a wideband input into it - but thats for mapping related datalogging only so a normal one would do most people) for datalogging and fault code reading/clearing
Oh yeah definitely does, and i'd rather not do it "on the cheap" as that can be asking for trouble!
Brilliant write up indeed. Makes me want to do it in mine but need to see what the reliability is going to be like to be confident enough to do that many miles and track days.
Great read, just about managed to get to the end.
Sounded last night that it was a good trip, some of the photos are fantastic as well.
Gotta add one of these trips to the list of things to do before you die!
Chip, only just spotted this after one of the lads we were with (the lad driving the focus for me) mentioned he spotted your write up on PF.
good to see you again after such a long time, glad you got the Exhaust sorted in the end.
as we chatted at Pinochio's, I was shocked that it was 3 years back that we all went over to the ring with Dave Moss and Ian Gerrard etc, time flies past!!
on topic, nice write up as always.
catch up again soon
This is a good crash out list...Iv ordered a set of injectors too, also going down the same route...plugs, coils, leads etc etc. I always take spare pads and discs, but that should be mandatory right for any serious track day nut?
p.s username change no more weird Japanese name
I think one of the guys got a couple of photos as you were just passing through the ticket barrier (sadly no "action" shots!)Saw your mates there, ricard with the 350z had a mate of mine called dan as his passenger, it's a small world.
You have to come too next year!
and I was driving the silver 911 turbo and white rs200 ( CL10 JET) on the Tuesday ,
CL10 JET seems to have upset some people according to Pistonheads...
