Tracked 172 Cups - what breaks?!

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and haven't had a good look around yet - so apols if this has been done to death or anything like that!

I'm looking for a 172 Cup at the moment and am starting to come across cars that have been tracked.

Question is - what should I be wary of? I've a fair amount of track experience and assume that dampers/engine/gearbox/clutch/drivetrain are likely to be the main concerns and am wondering how hardy they are.

Can anyone advise? Is there anything else that's particularly weak?

Thanks:)

Crash damage on Cups is likly.

Engine are solid realy no worries there.

General electric can be a problem.

Not much is weak though.

My mate broke a gearbox in his track spec cup, otherwise it was very solid. i would suspect that most drivers aren't the regular 'first time on track' types and really care for their vehicles so most won't be worn out as they'd be warmed up properly etc.

Ive never really though about this, but apart from the bits that get worn out on a clio as a road car, cant think of anything that dies quicker on a track clio.

Brakes seem to warp easy, but not had experience of many other marques, so not sure if this is just a clio thing.

They don't warp people just don't treat them right.

Doubt it, as most cars are bought my experience track pilots and not your average 17 year old who'll rag the @r$e off it.
