Getting the tracking checked and set up on Monday and wondered what people went for. Car is a daily with the odd track day thrown in. Car is lowered on Cooksport springs aswell. Hopefully there wont be any issues but wanted feedback on people with a similar set up :)

Do you mean setup regards to camber and toe dan? If so I'll have a search as to what I had mine done at

Yeah mate. Although at the moment i wont be going down the route of camber bolts just yet which will restrict me to adjusting the front camber. Toe etc i will be able to get them to check/adjust.

Seriously, get the bolts before you get it all set up. More camber makes them feel so much nicer. Plus you'll just have to pay for geo again once you do fit them.

I was recommended setting the toe at 0. believe that's straight.

If you do get front camber bolts I was recommended -1.5 degree.

Everyone will have their own opinions though mate and if you use it daily it will get knocked out at some point.

Just don't go too mad with camber if you use it daily, it will scrub tires out rather quick.

If its free then you might be able to persuade them to let you try few different settings.

for me (and as a daily driver for my wife) and occasional trackdays I have 1.5 degrees negative camber and a few mins toe-in. Toe-out is fine, feels a little dartier in direction changes, but I prefer toe-in as I like the steering feel and it seems to give a greater feeling of stability and conected-ness on bumpy roads.

Each to their own, but either way just don't go mad with the toe settings. You can get away with quite A bit of camber without tyre issues, but I think grip suffered on cold greasy roads when I ran 2+ degrees last winter when I first fitted camber bolts - hence winding back to 1.5.

This set-up (on road tyres) seemed fine at Oulton on 31st Oct (I was the blue 182 :))

Great pics mate, and even if I do say so myself my car looks great lol. Did you take the pics? Apart from your car lol

As a general rule, toe out helps turn in on bends but it doesn't really help straight line stability.

Interesting. May try a few settings as its free and go from there. With it being what it is do you think they will have issues locating the car on their super duper hunter alignment thingy? And with it being slightly lower too?

Mines sat quite low on coilovers and the garage used a Hunter machine and they never had any issues, with both 16" and 15" wheels.

Your just on springs arent you? if so you'll be fine. My clio was fine getting tracked, I just used to have to take my bumper off to get on the ramp lol.

Have a play about with it, I messed about with mine in a very inaccurate manner before getting it done properly and I preferred the feel of toe out.

Cheers guys. You know the camber bolts are they pretty straight forward to put in and adjust etc? Im assuming they are and yeah im just on springs mate.

Is there a general rule of thumb for adjusting toe DIY? Mine is currently set to parallel on the front set up properly but i am wanting a little more toe out.

From experience one full turn on the rod will translate to approximately 4 mm of toe change per wheel (16's). In degrees that would be just over half (= 30 minutes). So don't do a turn on each side and expect it to drive well!

If its just a quick fiddle to see if you like toe-in or toe-out, I would try adjusting one side only. Third of a turn one way, go drive - 2/3rds a turn the other way - go dirve, then third of a turn back and it should be zero again. Obvously the wheel will be slightly off-centre when you only do one rod but this will safeguard against making a balls-up as you can be sure you're back to zero if the steering is fully straight again. The slightly offset steering isn't going to make it pull to one side or anything (it doesn't work like that as front wheels will always try and centre ahead) but obviously this isn't ideal if the steering wheel is squiff! So if you find you like toe-out, get it set like that properly, asking for 12 minutes toe-out (or in, if you prefer).

But if (like me) you're happy to just bodge it, just alter both by a sixth of a turn.

Only just noticed this reply!

Went out earlier and adjusted both sides by a quarter turn for toe out. Maybe a bit much from reading the above!

Will see what its like tomorrow then go from there.

Nah, don't worry, I'm pretty sure you'll be fine!
