But before the server list comes up, I get cannot connect to ladder so it would appear the sever that logs all the scores is down, thats what I'm asking?

I didnt enter a key number?

I think I got this bit worked out.

I was trying allsorts of fancy names such as "Cliosport.Net Darren S" or "CS-Net Darren S" and got the invalid key message everytime. As soon as I switched it to just "Darren S" - it allowed me on no problem.

It may have issues with characters like '-' '.' '*' etc, or I may just have exceeded the maximum length possible?

I`ll probably be on again tonight if you`re on m8....there are some stupidly good players but I managed a few 1st places last night. Sometimes you get a almost perfect lap with no crashes but are still 6 secs or so off 1st place!

trick is to stay as close to the corners apex as possible.

Ive found that doing harpins breaking is better than letting of the accelerater.

However if your going quick through a series of bends then letting a little of the gas and then straight back on works well.

Also look out for cheeky shortcuts

Its quite similar to a go kart
