Trackrod end??

Got 2 new tyres on Saturday and the mechanic mention that there was play in one of the trackrods. So will get it done as soon as I have some time.

How much am I looking at to get this done ??

Also which trader would sell them?

It's around £8 for the part, then fitting plus tracking your looking at around £50. I paid £53.95 just the other week. Some places charge £30 for tracking alone so not too bad.

My next question is Why would they still do the tracking if there was play in one of them?

Did they charge you for tracking? You will need it re doing. they should have pointed out that tracking would have been pointless until the track rod end is replaced. as there is play so the adjustments made will be lost fairly quickly

I paid £16 for two track rod ends, then £42 for fitting and tracking, feels way better now.

I wouldnt set foot in any garage that does your tracking while a work track rod end is on the car!!

You could get one and fit it, measure the new one against the old one and it should get you very close , unless the old one was really shagged when they did it.
