Coming to work this morning on the M60 in very heavy rain.I had to go over the Barton bridge and come off at the next junction.I was in the outside lane doing 70mph ( thats 80 knots ) and passing other traffic when l saw that half the lane was just a torrent of water.I kept my foot on the gas and as l hit it both front wheels spun for about 40 meters.

I have since changed my pants.

ye this wethers doing me nut , u shouldnt be able to spin the wheels in 3rd doing under 30mph ,

gues we just have to take it steady n hold out for the summer then abuse the roads

What a change in weather, went to bed last night, cold and snowing and have just woken up to it chucking it down.

Sounds similar to an incident I had, albeit at lower speeds but still bloody scary.

I was snaking down a slip road for about 30 metres - traction control light going bonkers bit of a wobble then the car just slowed and went straight.

It might be a pain when you pushing on or on a track but when your driving home from work a 10 o clock, tired, on greasy icy roads it can keep you out of the ditch.

I don't know what tyres you have on, but you should try hitting standing water with A539's on... lol.... It was almost enough to make me find Religion.

My 172 has esp and still spins it's wheels now and again in the wet

Something similar happend to me last year. Think I was still on 185 Contis and aquaplaned on a cambered section of motorway overtaking a truck. Was doing about 60mph cos it was so wet but was scary to be sliding down the incline towards the artic!!

How much would esp actually work seeing as how the wheels arent on the ground?
