Tripod recommendations

Sub £75 ideally, other than that I don't have any specific requirements. D3000 with a kit or at largest 70-300 lens on it so doesn't need to be able to support a small car, that said I don't mind it being robust so long as it's not stupidly heavy to drag around.

A little over budget, but this is what i'm using at the mo....it's light with it being CF,which was my main issue when going fell walking with all my gear....

What sort of photography mate? Or just a general purpose one?

General purpose I guess. I don't need anything that has a head on it designed to pan for Motorsport at I'd shoot that freehand. Most likely get used for long exposure work most frequently.

I got this yesterday and am really pleased with it!

I was going to get the carbon fibre one mentioned above, but it supports less weight so went for this purely just in case I get a beefy lens at some point

Just to update this I ended up picking up a Manfrotto 294a3, a little over my intended budget but felt really solid and I liked the head on it so went for it.
