Trophy #277

Thought I’d get a little thread started as I’m now getting tucked into sorting the Trophy, finally! She’s been off the road a couple of years as I’ve been busy with the cups and other toys I’ve had and since sold on. Do love a cup!

So mid November I decided it was time to get the Trophy out, I actually missed having a 1*2 around tbh. So here’s #277 in all her shame, we hired a trailer and took her to Matt at Select Motorsport.

As you can see much tlc was needed! Got her to Matt’s and he worked his magic. Full belts, water pump, service, plugs, sorted out the dash lights and an Mot. Great to deal with, very pleased with the service! He advised me the front left wheel had a slight buckle, So I went on the hunt for a spare turini before I had mine straightened out, If possible.

Managed to find a couple of turini’s from a fellow Trophy owner in Bristol so off we went in the trusty 146! 😁

Got them on the wheel balancing machine at work and put the best one on mine, drives so much better for it!

I then decided it needs better lights as driving at night was a nightmare, the lights are better on the 146 and they’re crap! 🤣 Found a set with Clio breaker who was fairly local, so I set out to save them, although I didn’t have much hope!

Much to my surprise they turned out pretty spot on! Took the old fabia splitter off and put my oem splitter on I had left over from my first cup. Can you spot my next issue?

Oh I forgot, I also fitted my new plate on too that my partner kindly bought for me for Xmas 👍 Was meant for the new car but I had already put R26 WAX on that one!

So last week I discovered a damp passenger footwell. 🙁 Took my scuttle panel off, everything was fine, side drains all seemed clear from what I could tell. I did find the centre drain bunged up with gunk, so I’m now monitoring this! Decided to spray the scuttle and wiper arms satin black while I was there.

Tomorrow I’m taking her to work to clean the underside and under seal, fit the lambda sensor and change a tyre. With the help of a mate of course!

She’s booked in with Matt to have abit more tlc in March! Got me goodies all ready!

Had a nice delivery today! Mark Fish springs that sit lower, cannot wait to have her driving as she should!

Look lovely Dawn but them style number plates are a bit marmite and your Meggy isn’t a R26 ;)

Ouch mate :(

Not my Trophy . . . . . . .

But I know for a fact that the owner of this went through 2 aftermarket heater matrix units as only the OE genuine Renault one fits exactly as it should.
A after market item was fitted and it leaked, It got stripped back down, Another one was fitted and it leaked, Stripped back down and a Genuine Renault ones was fitted.

It was something to do with the plastic pipe connection being 1mm out and not sealing and having a hairline gap for it to leak.

Anyway back on topic.

Nope she’s not for sale, sold enough of my cars as it is! Just happy to have a project again. 😁

So far so good, she’s stayed dry but has been sat in a warm garage.

Not got around to sorting the washer blanks yet, always thought they looked abit strange 🤣

Thanks, I’m replacing the mounts for oem. Not sure what to do with the holes, I need to see how bad it is when the originals are back in and go from there.

The ktec mounts are irritating how theyve been fitted!

Yes not good mate but the ktec racing is only a decal, so would like better if you just remove it so it’s not wonky donkey.

Yeah I removed my stickers as they look much cleaner

Dont think the issue is the logo.

Think its the fact that someone has drilled the strut top to put the mounts on.
If these get changed or removed it will leave 3 holes in the strut mounts which is not good for a genuine trophy buff looking for as much OE as possible.

Yeah, and the holes arent orientated properly haha.

Easily welded up if you want to get rid
