Trophy - 98k - £2950?

Crap advert, as soon as it says 'NEVER BEEN ON A TRACK DAY IN ITS LIFE !' you just know it has.

If it was sound i would buy it. probably not for that price tho

A plus point that the dampers have been done. Could be a good buy that - mine has been tracked literally all it's life and had no problems in my ownership.

It is cheap. Very cheap in fact!!

Wheels seem to be the wrong colour, & its missing a splitter, but the Recaro/Sachs/Turinis are worth £1500 by themselves lol.

Epic bargain. Must resist. Buying another car.

Very very cheap, but doesn't mention anything about HPI clear?

Could make a good track car?

I looked at this car the other day in Newbury and was being sold by a young lad as a sideline of the trade. It's had the NSF wing and door repainted due to vandalism key scratch (According to the 1st owner as recorded on Clio Trophy website) and the boot lock is locked shut but the main reason I walked away was the engine sounded rough and upon checking the dipstick...Just the slightest bit of black oil at the end and LOADS of oil all around the engine bay and engine.
Oddly he still has it on Autotrader and at a higher price. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif.../radius/1500/keywords/trophy/page/1?logcode=p

Number 370/500. I would agree a useful car for track but I think I'd feel better with a replacement engine. Massively stone chipped on the front too but as you'd expect doing motorway mileage.

If all that is true, you could easily spend the 2k its cheap by trying to fix it, and then end up with a 5K high miles trophy with a shady past. So not sounding like a good investment for someone wanting a tidy car.
As a track hack with some kudos though it would still have potential though if you wanted to do an engine build anyway.

Tempted to look at this, I mean could easily pick up a new lump if it goes bang and still a cheap Trophy!

Seen 182s with oil everywhere and it has just been a case of a failed rocker cover gasket, easily fixed if you're changing belts at same time.

Sadly though if the engines been run low on oil as suggested above, who knows what damage it has done
