Sorry about the Lexus lights !
I had the first V6 in the country many years ago
in silver and bought the lights when they first came out
they had been sitting in the garage for years then when I bought the trophy
I thought
why not .... and put them on
PS - The trophy is a good car !
Ive had 2 Renault 5 mid engined Turbo 2s ( the last with 230bhp )in the past
2 Renault GTAs and numerous 5 turbos
Wow, you've certainly had a selection of motors! I'd love to have a spin in a Turbo 2!
Do yourself a favour though.... scrap the lexus lights off the Trophy, and keep it standard!
I spent a fortune on the Turbo 2 reg 595 FKE
it was pearl white with uprated wheels with willwood brakes
the engine had a larger intercooler with 360 thrust bearings
and larger turbo with dump valves + a huge exhaust on
It use to blow up every year with white smoke blowing out the exhaust
This was back in 1992 -1996 when the technology on turbos was very limited
now you can get most things for most cars
The handling was pretty good but 230bhp for 1397cc was pushing the boat out !
I don't know what it is with Lexus lights, they are on all sorts of (mostly bad) motors. Nuff Respect to the other Renaults Timbo has owned - was shotgun in a GTAV6 back in '87 (Brother worked for sales in Renault Nantwich) it was a wicked looking car but never sold very well...
Also went to Birmingham in about '85 to see the Renault 5 GT Turbo's racing around Birmingham - those 5 Turbo's were awesome but like yer man Timbo said they were more than a bit unreliable and for a snotty young teenager like me uninsurable... Just goes to show you though that Renault have been @ the forefront of hot hatch technology for more than 20 years now and (for me) it shows in the awesome performance of the Cup SPort 172...
Really !
Its nothing to do with me, I saw it in the services about 3 months ago, realised what it was so took a few pics (I have a couple more of it if you want them) the dude who was driving it was f*cking massive (about 6ft 8 tall) & built like a brick sh*t house !
I am - just moved to Sawbridgeworth a few months ago
I bought the Trophy a few months ago - I do a lot of trackdays and last
time I was at the Nurburgring in November everyone was raving about the Trophy so I got rid of my 4x4 and managed to get a 2nd hand Trophy from Renault City
Also tracked down the owner of my old car - cheers
A Sawbo lad! I'm only up the road in Epping.... How much did you give for the Trophy if you don't mind me asking? I'm tempted to chop the 172 in for one....
