trophy mk2-mk4

  soon to be a 200
Just phoned a local dismantlers so called specialist in french cars for a intermittent wiper stalk he asked for what year so i said 2005 and he said so its for a mk4 i said no i think its a mk2 and he said they stopped making them so it cant be a mk2 . I am so confused ?

  RS-1, Bebop, CTR
mk4?

i thought that the current clio model is only mk3, lol?

yours is mk2, there are loads of spare parts left, especially since the mk2 is still in production - go tell your "french car specialist" to get another job

  Golf R soon...
For some bizarre reason some "specialists" seem to think phases in cars are counted in marks.

I had a argument with a Fiat dealer about my face lift punto called the mk2b or mk2.5, he seemed to think it was a mk3, I explained the mk3 was called the Grande Punto but he just didn't listen

I am going to go down for a laugh and ask him what mk mine is and see if he can show me a mk4 .

So far.
Isn't the two standard models of the Mk2 that they still make now different?
also, 182's are Mk2 variants as it's different from the 172

  BMW E46 330i Touring
But the 'phases' go by the significant changes to the bodyshape don't they? ie 172 Mk1 and 2...

for some reason people say the 182 is a mk2 ph3 never understood it myself. I have always seen it as same basic shell but exterior changes like headlamp shapes etc is a ph change.

Phases are facelifts. Marks are an entire new body. It's not rocket science. How poeple in the industry don't understand this is quite silly really :)

and Mk2 Ph3 - Diff interior and grey lines round the headlights and the bumpers different. (think around 04 on)

  BMW E46 330i Touring
But different bumpers and interiors don't make for a different 'phase'. The 182 isn't a different phase to the other Mk2 Ph2's, although it has different bumpers, interior, engine, etc... it's just a different model in the same phase.

if bumpers and that dont make a diferent phase then there is only a ph1 and ph2 mk1...... the only changes in the mk1 ph1 and 2 are bumpstrips, and grill.... mk2 ph3 has a different grill and bumpers.
So Ads172 your wrong
