trouble fittin induction filter, need help

i have bought a sports filter but it doesnt fit in the place were the standart filter fits (mk2 clio) whats the best way around this? ( sorry if its a noobish question)

If its a MK2 1.2 16V you'll need the adapter plate to fit the filter (found in the link below) Ideally need pics of said filter and engine.
