Truck hit my car today

Ouch , nasty! I'd be bloody livid. How can the lorry driver say it wsn't his fault? If your drawing is correct and you were stationary and within your own lane, there is no way you can be at fault. Have you got any witnesses?

You'd get angry if someone breathed on your car lol.

Although in this case, going on the drawing I'd be mad lol.

tbh i allways let lorries pull into the road in that situation, making sure they have a lot of room so my car doesnt end up like yours.

gutting...as above, did you have any witnesses?

I had a passenger but I can't use him as a witness. There were people there but I didn't think at the time to get their details. I just expected the other driver to take responsibility as it was obviously his fault!

 I'm not quite that bad, although I admit I am rather passionate about her. I've spent loads getting her the way I want her though, so maybe I have a good reason to be? ;)

There is nothing wrong with loving your car, I've never said that although its possible to be a tad anal......

Not quite sure why I was quoted twice in the same thread either! random, someone was clicking the quote button a tad fast ;)

Why can't you use your passenger as a witness? He saw what happened didn't he?

My car doesnt even have alloys, let alone luxuries like air con or a leather steering wheel. And i love mine. Usually.

I don't know how that happened, but I corrected it before I saw this comment. Unfortunately for me, (grr), you were a tad quick with the refresh button. Hahaha

Well it's my birthday today so I'm using the money I have been given to pay the excess to get it fixed. So monday the garage will be picking my car up to fix it :).

Its just a shame that I have to use my birthday money :dapprove:. Although, I should get it back when I win the claim.

If the lorry driver takes full blame which he should doesn't matter the wheels will be repaired.

I had similar thing on a roundabout Lorry went into the side of me. I took all his details down but he paid for it out of his own pocket. Reckon he was pulling a foreigner with the works truck so didn't want them involved.

Wheels wont be declared if he hasnt declared them and even if he did, a lot of insurers policies dont cover non-standard parts, i declared all my mods on the phone then at the end she said non-standard parts are not covered under any of our policies.

Thats a sh!tter. Looks like it can be repaired though. You just need to get the truck company to accept responsibility and learnt o cover your wheels in your insuarance ;)

Came close to a similar situation myself. Driving down through a village and there is a bus station on the left. The bus turning right into the depot stopped to let a bus turn right out out of it and didnt see me coming and pulled out as I was about to drive between them. Scared the sh!t outta me!

Good luck with this Hixxey!

I had an accident a couple of years ago and it was clearly her fault, even the police on the scene said so, but she didn't admit, made up 2 false excuses to say I was in the wrong and only finally gave in when the police report was published stating she was at fault (7 months later!). All in all it took my case 9 months to close in my favour! I sued her too which was fun :) But 9 months of solicitors and police reports is tiring! I had no witness either and my passenger wasn't allowed to be a witness cos passengers are not technically 3rd parties to the accident.

Don't give in like I've heard other people do, fight it, you're clearly in the right. It was careless driving on his part.

Good to hear you're having it sorted soon. Good luck with the claim fella.

Well it's finally repaired. Cost me £400 excess and they are replacing the wheel for me.
Insurance are trying to get 50/50 but I don't want that I want it 100% in my favor! Need my no claims back and my excess.

Ouch, nasty.

I've had an Irish Blackpool-'bus driving muppet scrape the back of my car before.

C*** made it drag on 18 months in an attempt to keep his job, then caved in the day before it went to trial.

B*****d.

Hope yours gets sorted quickly.

this almost happened to me the other day, i was driving in the industrial estate and a truck turned the same way, bugger almost ripped my car to bits, i stuck it into reverse and just kept going back almost touching the guys bumper behind me, holding my horn to make him move,

i don't go up curbs, they suck and hurt you're car.
