Basically, i've put a new head unit in my mk1 172, and have just bought some
bits and bobs to go with it.
Now about ten years ago, i was ace at fitting stereos amps etc, but with all the gubbins that goes in new cars, i'm flummoxed!

I have some focal components to slot in the front doors, along with a crossover, where the fook do i hide that big ol' piece of kit??!!
How do i get the original tweeters out, so i can replace with focal ones? (inc wiring!!)
And finally, how the hell do i find a suitable hole in the firewall to put through my power lead for the amp? (which will run the sub in my boot)

The crossovers could maybe be hidden in the passenger footwell right up at the top of it, thats where i put them on a 182 anyway.
The tweeters, you need to take the dash top off to get to them.
Use the bonnet cable grommit on the pass side for the power lead, helps if you loosen off the coolant expansion bottle.

where do you live?! Can i pay you?! (only for stereo fitment ;))
Seriously though, i will break something!
How much would it cost to get all that fitted? I have got all the wiring, etc.

Focal mids, crossovers and tweets running off Kenwood H/unit.
JBL 10" sub running off Phoenix Gold amp.

If you were totake it somewhere you'd maybe be looking at £75-100 to get it fitted, dont really know cos ive never paid anyone to do that!
