Trying to install aftermarket HID on my headlamps

I have got the 182 projector headlights I'm using these with, and I am having issues installing these.
Main points of trouble are:

1. Where the two positive and negative spades go - where do they plug into?
2. Do I need to wire anything up directly to the battery?

They should already be xenons? You won't have anywhere to plug an aftermarket hid kit afaik as it's setup to run the factory xenons.

They are but the ballasts have gone for one of the headlamps, and they're very expensive to replace.

Oh I see. Can pick them up fairly cheaply on ebay or breakers on here

Yeah, I found them on eBay, and they're more expensive than an aftermarket kit. Other issue is I don't know how much life they have left in them. Not to mention the hassle of having to remove the headlamp to replace them.
Just thought it would be easier to pick up a separate ballast which would be easy to maintain post installation.
