hi there i hope some one can help
i have a clio 172 running 191bhp and would realy like to get to 200bhp do you think an angelworks manifold would give much if any power?
also do you think its worth fitting the 182 exhaust manifold?

the car currantly has stage one tune exhaust and induction modified.

kind regards

As above, what mods are you currently running?

sorry thought id said in the first post
i bought the car already modded so cant be 100% sure
but it has exhaust system induction kit and a full stage one tune by a company thats name has completely gone from my head lol(id go and look but im on holiday)it had dyno prints outs for 189bhp after work carried out.but i had it dyno'd myself and it made 191bhp which i was very pleased with.to be honest im not even sure wat a stage one tune/kit is.but it cost £640

oh i just remembered the car was tuned by prima racing if that helps?cant find a stage one tune listed on there website anyone any ideas what it is?

just found this listed on the site

Stage 1

Our Stage 1 conversions usually include an upgraded management computer, air induction kit and Sports exhaust system. Stage 1 conversions will give up to an extra 25bhp depending on model.

with 172s, you don't get those kinda gains for that money

maybe not, as i said i cant be sure whats be done to it.but its made the same power(2bhp differance) on 2 differant rolling roads.
and to be fair i would have thought for over £1000 you should get a 19bhp increase or am i wrong?

kind regards

sounds like an exhaust, air filter and a group N ECU re-flash. Be surprised if you made as much as 10bhp just from that in all honesty, and that's with only around 160-165 to start with. Where were the power runs done?

For £1k you could have someone fit cams and map the engine. MAYBE get a BMC CDA induction kit too.
Cams are not realistically going to return 19bhp
Remember that a 172 engine is not 172bhp to start with. Its 172 PS (169bhp iirc)

after spending well over a thousand on mine , it didn't return as much power as expected .

182 manifold , sports cat , prospeed exhaust , viper IK , inlets matched + remap was 188 bhp .

defo need to look at bigger mods for greater gains imo .

Rentech in Portsmouth?

If you want a more accurate RR, try Surrey Rolling Road, or JKM in Portsmouth

and to be honest i think the figures must be right as its had 4 power runs in total(on 2 differant rolling roads) and the figures have been within 5bhp on all runs.but as said i dont realy know whats been done to the car as i can only go on the reciepts i have really.

ive never heard of rentech in portsmouth i shall try and find a number now and give them a call.
thanks again

RR are about as accurate as a finger in the air often. Only ever real use is to get the car measured time and again on the same rr before and after work is done.
