Turbo inlet temperatures

Looking for a bit of input guys, when considering inlet temperatures and intercooler choice, generally what is the ideal sort of figures your looking for, ambient temp + ???

im running around ambient temp + 25-30 degrees C and this to me seems very hot!?

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
you want as cool as you can. 25-30 isn't terrible for a turbo considering it's 15-20 outside at the moment

Sorry i should probably have been clearer than that, its 25 to 30 degrees above ambient

not a big surprise still, you're running relatively high boost on a small turbo IIRC, you get to a certain point where a turbo just turns into a hot air pump and the only way to go is bigger. I'm a fan of big turbos on low boost with high compression for responsiveness.

You should see improvements with a better intercooler

Water meth ftw! My Cupra R ran a 50/50'mix of it, and during winter I was seeing intake temps as low as -15'c when it was around -2 ambient.

OT

But have you got a project thread for your Cupra? Be interested to have a read, i haven't long bought one.

need to find something that fits now! I had a focus ST one but its just too big and no more, I don't want to start chopping the bumper and grill to bits and that was what I was going to have to do.

im going to do the same drive I done lastnight to get the figures I measured but this time with the passengers foglight removed as that's where the intercooler is, stupid location!! and see what sort of difference I get
