turbo powered F7R and gearbox failure????

  laguna 2.0 turbo (F7R)
I just turbo powered my megane f7r engine. and after 5 testruns I decided to park the car and when I tryed the rev the shifter just stucked and can only be set to first gear. Is my gearbox fuk***d or does someone know this problem. I have extra internals at my work so that makes me happier.

this is so :mad::dapprove:

sorry my bad english

what gearbox is it running? Most the valver gearboxes are not built for power, williams (JC5) are a little stronger but not much.

from k4m 1.6 :D. I thought it will last few months:eek:
I think it was big mistake to turbo power my f7r. This gearboxes are junk. I hope JC5 are better, it is maked for 150 hp but the other 110 hp.

There are so many turbo projects on the web. I have never wread about gearbox upgrate.
what do most gearboxes last for long with turbo boost. ?

thanks.

Is JB3 from clio172, I read somewhere that they are strongest of them all, is that true?

  Trophy #473
Nah 1*2's have bolt in Diffs and are stronger (within reason) valver JB3's have the circlip design and are prone to breaking when you give them to much beans.

ALL JC5's have bolt in diff.

JB3's use a circlip, which can pop out.

However the retaining plate can be retro-fitted to JB3's quite easily.

The reason they have more common failures is due to them being from an older vehicle, which has likely been ragged to death for 15 years, without an oil change! Theres alot more valvers than williams clio's, but ive seen wuite a few williams JC's fail.

The reason for typical failure in either box is syncromesh and/or selector forks....both of which are the same on JB3 and JC..

I have this for sale if its of intrest:

Thought only the later 182 JC5 box had the bolted diff retainer? As people have had circlip problems with 172s i'm sure Ali did off the top of my head.

All JC5's have a bolt in retainer plate for the diff.

Williams, Lagunas, 172's, 182,s....

  williams and trophy
iv had a few circlips fail on my jc5s

mainly due to the box mount under the battery tray snapping n dropping the box onto the subframe.

extra mount now so shud cure this prob hehe.
