Turn the amp on when the ignition is turned on?

I finally installed new amp first time (EASY!!) - It working great BUT...

Turn the amp on when the ignition is turned on.. Is that bad?

I ask this because I couldnt get amp turn on when the streo/radio on.. I have tried connecting to blue wire from the headunit but didnt work...

My car is Clio 1.2, Reg: R.

There isnt any blue/white wire. There is only 4 wires in ISO A block.

Red = Perment 12+.
Yellow = ignition power
Blue = illumination
Black = [FONT=Book Antiqua, Times New Roman, Times]Earth.

Blue wire dont work at all.

If you are sure yellow is ignition power then that should work.

How did you go with the power cable by the way?

Yeah the amp is working with yellow wire ignition. Amp turned on when ignition is on.

I want to know is that bad? Will it drain the battery quickly?

I want amp to turn on when radio is on blue wire from iso block don't work

How did you go with the power cable by the way?

That wasnt too hard, took me about 10 mins. I used a knife to stab it.:rasp:

it will draw as much/little power as if connected to HU, however if your radio is stays on when you switch the ignition of, then it will be a bad day indeed. since you will no longer have that lovely bass sound

Yeah that's fine as long as both the radio and amp switch off when you turn the ignition off.

It's essentially all a proper remote cable does.
