Two Bucket Method????

  133/225/CLS AMG
I'm probably being really dense here but what does the 'two bucket method' of washing the car consist of other than two buckets??? lol

I pride myself on the fact that my Meg never gets too dirty anyway so usually a quick rinse, followed by lambs wool washmit with car shampoo, then rinse again, then dry!

Never had any bother with this method and no swirl marks etc.

If anyone can enlighten me to this 'two bucket method' then feel free!! lol

PS - This could be the stooopidest question for some time!! lol

Lol, basically...

It rinses off grit and dirt that will be on the washmitt after you've passed it over the car into a different supply of water, so you're not just recycling the dirt back onto the car again.

As above one bucket with your wash, one with clean rinse water. After washing a panel, rinse the mitt in the rinse water before going back into the car wash one.

Aaah I see!! Its all become clear.

I have to say, I'll definitely give this one a try if the Meg gets really mucky. I've found that a quick rinse first just to get the dust off the car and then washing over it normally has kept it mint though.

Cheers for the infor guys!!

Well when you consider that my Meg has only done 2800 miles since Jan last year, it doesn't actually get that dirty.

No swirls here -

Well you have to take into account that the car has done such little mileage, gets covered when not in use and now lives in the garage when not used!! lol

Even though I haven't used the 'two bucket' method, the bodywork never gets enough crap on it to cause swirls or scratches when washed.
