took the motor into reno yesterday for power loss. mechanic had a test drive, said that he had only every driven two 172s, (a cup and one which had been chipped which he thought were faster.) we did 2 tests, 50 to 80 in 5th gear, autocar says about 8secs, i timed it a 16!!!!!!, then a quick 0 to 60 blast in a magical 9 secs!!!! so the old story of reno saying everything is fine rings very true. its going on the computer diagnostic machine tomorrow!!! fingers crossed!!!

sh*t thats bad, i get 6.7 to sixty on the old digital camera. Not acurate i know but what timing method did you use to time your runs? Did you hamer it cos they all feel abit sluggish unless you hammer it in every gear!
