Tyre black

Reet geeks ;)

I'm looking for a tyre black that gives a satin/matt finish. I have used AG Tyre dressing, and Chemical guys trim detailer in the past. Problems for me, AG, too shiny. CG, too sticky/shiny (lasts ok though) So what options do i have? Dont want shine as my wheels are the satin Black Speedlines, and they look poop against a shiny tyre.

Fire away

I ran out of tyre gel a few weeks ago, but stumbled upon a bottle of armour-all and tbh I prefer it to tyre gel. It's not shiny shiny, but looks neat enough and lasts the whole week until the next wash. Laugh away lol.

Funny you should say that, i remember using some of that years ago, was OK from memory!

Aye, endurance gel worked in and buffed is good.

Failing that, I've used AG vinyl & rubber care when i've run out of tyre dressing and that gave a nice matt finish. Didn't last long though...

Lol, I did not know that! I've got some of their tyre dressing somewhere but didn't like how long it lasted... that'll be why!

Will have to crack it out again and try using more. I guess it works better when applied multiple times?

Best three, would be Zaino Z16 (£12), Swissvax Pneu (£12) and Zymol Tyre Preserve (£27)

The Zymol looks very pricey, but you really do use very little, so it will last ages.

All three offer a very natural look.

The items above are a less "sticky" and therefore may not last as long but will give a much better look.

Still think that blackfire is the best of both worlds, i.e. durability and looks. With Megs Endurance being the one to go for on a budget.

Ordered the Swissvax Pneu, looking at the pics, seems to give the matt o.e finish i'm looking for!!!

As said durability is not really an issue, as the more durable the product, the more 'sticky' it seems to be. And a b*****d to get off with apc!

Good choice Gaz, it's a quality product. They do a Pneu brush too which is a nice paint brush :)

Did see that, but i'm sure a Harris one from B&Q would suffice, hell i could probably get 3 ;)

Blackfire for me. You can make it as shiney as you want and buff off excess to make it less shiney. If that makes sense :D

Blackfire is the daddy. I'm now comfortable with all the products i use. There isn't one i'd change now...

I usually only put some tyre slick on if I'm going somewhere, or for photos haha :p

Doesn't always get topped up after every wash

Flol!

Megs Endurance from the reviews i've read, is sticky like the CG trim stuff i have, so that was out. Nightfire (from what i read) seems to leave a siny finish too, so that was out! Fail.
