Tyre dilemma for 182....

  RB clio 182
Hi there,

Can someone point me in the right direction to some exaltos for my 182.

I cant find any for sale in the correct size and fitment.

Do they still make them in 205/45/16 ???

Thanks

Ben

I didn't mind the PS3's I had, but they weren't as good as the PE2's I had before.

I rate the Uniroyal RS2's.

Federal 595 RSR are my favourite tyre of the moment, almost as good in the dry as a 888/A048/MPSC and almost as good in the wet as a rainsport.

They last quite well too.

Downside is some people have had reliability problems, but so far they have been ok for me.

We use them now as an all rounder tyre for trackdays in terms of going to and from, and for if its wet or damp, and then only swap to MPSC if its utterly gone dry, just to save tearing the RSRs up with my overly aggressive driving style, lol

So whats the general thought on "best tyres" ??

Not bothered about price, just want the best possible.

For what application?

If its road legal dry trackday tyre then the michelin pilot sport cup is the clear winner IMHO, but put them down a wet country lane and you are likely to end up in a ditch.

Uniroyal RS2 rainsport I like for daily use and particuarly as a wet tyre, but they dont last 5 mins if you drive them hard in the dry.

It really is very application specific.

All rounder though, IMHO nothing else Ive tried can quite compete with the RSR federal, they seem to do everything at least 8/10

Loved......LOVED Uniroyal RainSport 2's as mentioned above...........really not enjoying Conti CS3's which i expected more from.

I would say that the best tyre would be the PS3 to be honest, haven't tried them myself but the exalto's that were on mine performed better than the Conti's even though they were at the legal limit.

It will be for daily use but a lot of blasting about also on country roads.

So RSR and PS3 are good ??

I've got PS3's all round after searching high and low for PE2's and not being able to find any. Gotta say, awesome tyres.

Pirelli Pzero Nero are my favourite choice by a long mile.

The common ones people seem to use on here are Michelin PS3, Conti sport contact, Hankook V12, T1R.

Personally i find Uniroyal and Hankooks too soft. But the Hankook is great value for money.

T1R's are also liked because they are not too bad in the dry and they are quite cheap but personally i rate them as a budget tyre.

I'll chuck another vote in for the mid range uniroyal RS2, for road driving in the UK conditions they are ideal.
