Tyre scrubbing/catching on something

  BMW 330ci, Clio 182
I've posted this in the problem section, but wasn't sure where was best!

Had a 4 hour drive earlier, and about halfway back what sounded like the passenger side front wheel started scrubbing against the arch liner or something
It started off fine until I got to about 40/50 and the noise would get faster/louder the faster I went. I pulled over a couple of times to try and find out where it was coming from, and try and move the arch lining a bit to stop it but it still carries on
I had to drive it again tonight and it was even worse! No matter what speed something is catching/rubbing what seems to be everytime the wheel goes around. I've had a look at it, and can't see what It could be as there is nothing obvious sticking out that may cause it. It get's pretty loud and is pretty much undriveable!
The other thought is that the top of the tyre is rubbing against the suspension or something like that as that's the closest thing to the tyre, but it's hard to tell without anyone in the car
I'll take the wheel off tomorrow anyway when this torrential rain stops! But does anyone have any idea what may have caused this?

Cheers

check the fog light access panel, mine used to scrape across the floor when the wind got hold of it

take a good look and see what you can find rubbing.
not a humming noise is it? if so could be a wheel bearing.

Sounds simple but check your wheel nuts too.

I have also read that people have had problems with the inside edge of the tyre on non sports rubbing the spring/strut eventually causing the tyre to blow.

Put steering on full lock and see if there is any wear on the tyre wall.

Nah it's definitely something catching or hitting the tyre/floor
Pretty loud noise, vibrates too but only seems to do it everytime the wheel goes round if you know what I mean? If i'm going slowly it seems to be the same speed as the wheel goes round like it's catching on something and then speeds up as I speed up. Just can't see where it's catching

As for the foglight thing, there is some loose plastic bits behind the arch but It didn't seem to be near the floor. It probably has something to do with it, but it's not just that rattling around there's definitely something catching
Real pain in the ass!

get it jacked up, wheel off

Should see from score marks on the tyre, or on the body work whats the problem
