Can the likes of 'back to black' be used on the tyre sidewalls?

I used to use this until a week ago and then I tried Duraglos 253. I won't be going back as it made my Fiat Punto tyres look brand new and shiny. Will be doing the 197 the weekend.

the reason i ask is i have a 90% bottle of it in amongst my cleaning equipment and as i have no black on the body work wondered if it would do the trick on the tyres.

it can - but like any tyre dressings it won't last five minutes if its just sprayed onto dirty tyres so make sure to clean them well first with APC or similar and a stuff brush

Get some Megs tyre gel or simular, Will last longer and look better.
