Tyre wear indicator

  BMW M3
Hi there,

Just slightly concerned as to whether or not i need to change my front two tyres and was wondering if there is an indicator on Michelin PE2's? I have noticed these rubber squares dotted along the tread and they are at the same level as the tyre itself if that an indicator.

Have not really notice any understeer apart from the usual in the wet.
All tyres have covered 16600 miles and i dont take it on track days... just wondering how that compares with you guys.

Thanks

Jus

Typically.... dont have my camera with me at the mo. Is the limit 1.6mm or something as i'm sure there is more then that; just that the tyre is now level with the rubber blocks and has been for some time. The back ones have miles to go (excuse the pun)

If the surface of the rubber is level with these risers area the tyre is most likely very close to the legal limit of 1.6 mm, or could even be below it! The tyre should be checked and if necessary changed, because you may no longer be driving in sufficient safety and you could be breaking the law. its strongly recommends that you consider changing your tyres before this limit is reached.
