Tyres for me cup...?

  BMW E46 330i Touring
I know what brands I'm looking at, but am wondering whether there's any real benefit to get 205/45 profiles instead of 195/45?

I put 205 45 16 paradas on my 172 cup.

25k from the fronts before I replaced them, and dont think they had an easy life.
No wheelspinning antics, but they were chirping every day.

Wouldn't put anything else on now. Superb grip/value for money and the best tyre I have ever used.

If you want PE2s' one possible benefit of 205 over 195 is availability. Took me the best part of a month to track down two 195/45/16 PE2s' a little while ago - they were like rocking horse s**t! No where had any or could get them delivered from Michelin for some reason. I did briefly consider getting 205 instead but I'm happy/used to the handling balance on 195 rubber and did'nt want to upset that.

Well I've decided to go from 195's to 205's, Eagle F1's, and if nothing else so far, the ride is that little bit more comfortable.

I asked for 195's but they didn't have any at all in stock and, with MOT on Tuesday and 4 very low tyres, I needed something today!

Nankang's on the rear though! Hmmm...
