Tyreweld repair.

Tyre weld is only to help you out of a sticky situation after using it I wouldn't continue driving on it.

Get a new tyre.

can still be repaired if its in the centre 3/4 of the tread and they can find the hole.

all the places ive worked do as long as the tyre has not been runflat and the hole can be found and its in the center 3/4 of tread then it can be repaid just need to wash out the tyreweld with water.

Just check for creases inside the tyre around the shoulder area. If it looks fine just clean the hole up and buff up the area around the hole! Ive done it loads of times without a problem

after more investigation apparently national tyres are in an agreement with tyreweld to repair tyres that have the tyreweld used in it :) so gona ring em tomorrow n try n sort it out! Jon

find somewhere that does Tyreseal.

we do it at work and its the same kinda idea as tyreweld but lasts the life of the tyre. just a gunk that activates the moment theres a puncture so you never even know you had a flat. then just change the tyre when its on the legal limit.

seems pretty good stuff!

Won't bother starting a new thread with this:

I'm looking to get a space saver or steely I can keep at home then when (not a question of if on our roads) I get another puncture I can get the old man to bring it instead of the using the non repairable tyre weld

My question, do the meganes run a space saver, if so will this fit? And if not will a normal clio steely fit?

Car is a 182 cup. Jon

After a totally dickish error just now @ my own blooming workplaces of all places to do it,

I've just gone I've a rather large curb and totally clouted the tyre/wheel but lucky avoided the front bumper and side sill on my 3 day old to myself RB "what a great start to clio ownership I hear you all chant" :)

Well it looks like I've knocked the tyre bead off the Tom and put a can off the therefor in which has got me the short journey home..

Would this be a take off and refit to get a fresh seal on the bead or a new bit of rubber ???

Cheers

i wouldn't reuse the tyre after impact damage could of damaged the ceasing causing it to bulge in the future or weaken it and bow out once it gets hot.

Also check the tracking. The RS front suspension is very sensitive to kerb damage knocking the tracking out. also tyre weld has to washed out with hot soapy water and not many places will do that. I had a puncture on my Trafic and had to use tyre repair foam. I had to take the tyre to a specialist to get it fixed. It makes a right mess of the inside of the tyre and any attempt to do a repair afterwards is more difficult as the inside of the tyre is left very slimy from the foam.

Yeah it's all sorted now after a £80 call out fee which was totally excessive and a new tyre in place..

All the tracking seems fine from driving it since, but when I get the opposite side replaced it'll be done anyway..
