ubuntu help?

  Polo + Micra
right i've wanted to try linux again (had a dabble with mandrake before) so i decided to have a go with ubuntu.

now i downloaded it, burnt cd, booted and started the install.

now it gets to about 96% installed and it fails at the bootloader install.

i want to try and get it to dual boot (xp & unbuntu).

i think i might be telling it to install the bootloader in the wrong place but i don't really know lol.

i'm trying to install it on it's own sata drive.

Have u downloaded the latest version if so

just burn the cd

run it then you will get into the live cd verion

click on the install

make the new partition on the hard drive for the ubuntu install

then a partition for the swap file

then it should all work and you should have dual boot automatically

let me no more info if it still dunt work

Not really got the time just now to give you a full answer, but it looks like your putting in the wrong location for the bootloader..

i'll have a proper look tommorow.

well they are sata drives (apart from the windows one which seems to still come up as one).

yeah i've tried putting it in a few different ways but it still comes up with the same error
