Uch, ecu kit off eBay?

Think I'm going to need a new Uch for my car and looking at the cheapest way of doing it. I have seen kits on eBay which compromise of: ecu, Uch, decoder ring and key fob.

Is this all I need, then obviously get it fitted? No new ignition barrel needed?

The kit is £160 and getting took off a same model as mine.

With this change will it affect any of the cars milage indicator etc?

Use the new key head and your old key blade. That way all the locks will still work.

Nothing else will be effected. What is actually wrong with the UCH?

The fuse box intermittantly seems like it's having a fit and headlights flicker, indicators will stop working and windows won't work. Today I had the alarm going off after unlocking the car with the key fob!

Is it just a simple switch them over job?

Just get a new uch and have it configed? Far less hassle than changing all that lot, they aren't that expensive new anymore.

Are they not £300 plus fitting for a brand new one?

Current retail prices for an N2/N3 UCH for a Clio II is £200 then an hours diags for coding and config so around £270 from a dealer with warranty. Only have one key fob at present? Then now would also be a good time to invest £60-70 in a virgin keyfob to and have them code it up at the sametime as re-coding your original keyfob.

No mate, got two key fobs at the moment.

So itd be around £100 difference but both easily done, just one with warranty and one without.
