  1.8 Civic EX
Any one got these on thier 172?

Thinking of getting the car to sit a little lower to give it a better looking stance and improve the handling a little. I'm not into the whole coilover big expensive set ups etc as this is a daily drive and the works car park is full of speed bumps so much lower than these would be impratical.

I may be wrong here, but I'm sure I've read somewhere that these are basically Apex springs? In which case they're not as good as the Eibachs, but then again they are a fair bit cheaper. Sure somebody will know for certain.

Cheers for that...the Eibachs go a bit lower and I don't want to be pushing my luck as the bumps at work are pretty massive lol

lol fair enough, I would be the same. It seems to be a bit of a taboo subject when you ask about lowering and speed bumps, nobody will say what's practical! Not sure how much more the Eibachs will take you with it already being on RS ride height, but I suppose every little counts.

Mate the eibachs will be fine i had front 60mm and rear 80+mm on mine and the college speed bumps are MOUNTAINS. They didnt scrub or anything unless i had 3+ people in the car. Speedlines lower bylike 30mm. Honestly will be fine :)

I had these springs on my other Dynamique for a while and i quite liked them , ran them for a few thousand miles and they gave me no troubles at all.
Oh yeah, The roads are utter sh!t on the IOW.

If i had the choice i would be buying the Eibachs though..

The Ultimates don't sound too bad then. Can you take residential speed bumps at 30 mph on Eibachs?

I'm good at lining them up, can't feel them. If it's the bigger ones then yeah down to say 15-20mph, or less if it's the full width ones. Judging by the front splitter, which is quite deep on mine and showing no wear, I'm guessing that Ultimates or Eibachs wouldn't be any more restrictive?

EDIT: I do realise asking questions about driving at the speed limit will perhaps muster up the impression of me being a speed fiend, which I'm not. The road I'm on about although residential is still a main road and as such the speed bumps aren't all that big. To do any less than 30 is considered inconsiderate to 90% of people driving on the road.

Fair enough mate, it's just one of those roads where you're almost guaranteed to have somebody trying to rub paint off your rear bumper if they're not happy with your speed!

What plans you got in terms of cars anyway, just noticed yours has gone to Warren?!

cheers chaps, so 30mm all round will be fine then...jolly good, very rarely take more in the car than just me and missus...
