Unbuntu Linux and wireless card

  RIP Dan
I have loaded Unbuntu onto my dell and got rid of windows.

All well and good but i cant get my Netgear WG311 PCI wireless card up and running.

Have looked over the net and it does say stuff and says about drivers etc, it goes on about tarballs and doing command line stuff to install them etc.

I have not got much of a clue about Linux/Unix, help please.

Bloody computers.

I ended up replacing mine in my laptop - ndiswrapper didn't do a lot of stuff for me, and I wanted Avahi to work..

Get a nice supported card, and yer laughing :)

Ive never had a problem with all the wireless cards ive come across.. always get them working, some are just more of a pain than others. If you get a supported one as Daz said then you wouldnt need to do anything ..

Blame the manufacturors for not releasing proper drivers.
