Under bonnet knocking - Diagnosed

For those of you who have been following the tales of my car and all its knocks and rattles heres an update on the knocking when cornering or when the car looses traction when pulling away.

Ive just been to my local dealership who took the car out for a good thrash to get to the bottom of the problem.

As most of you already know I had the AKTIS, or whatever its called suspension mod done a while ago, which removed the very loud knock whenever I cornered or hit a bump.

According to the service guy the current knocking Im getting is the suspension strut tops. They have ordered the parts in and will carry out the work when the car goes in on the 16th of next month. Ill also be getting my 3rd set of passenger seat runners and my dash rattles looked at.

Where abouts is the rattle on your dash Lee?

Mine rattles by the passenger side air vent and is driving me mad. Let me know how they get on with fixing the other rattles too. I might risk taking mine in then

With the suspension knock, did it happen if you were pulling out of a junction (Nearly at full lock) over a rough bit of road?

The dash rattle is on the left at low revs, middle under normal driving and to the right at high revs!!! I know, its bad. I can just about live with it but seeing as its going in anyway I figured I may as well get it looked at.

The knock I get now only really happens when cornering fairly hard. The original knock happened a lot more. For example, reversing off my drive was enough to cause a knock when the car left the kerb, even at the lowest point, and joined the road.

My dash is getting worse. Im going to remove it myself as I want to fit tweeters and ill fix those damn rattles. Might smear grease or something around the edges to prevent more occuring?

Isnt talcum powder supposed to be good at stopping the rattles?
