unstable at high speed

Car  clio sport 182
iv got a 182 sport and it handles corners as if its on tracks but as soon as it gets to 90mph or more it gets very twitchy?. someone said it could need the camber & toe adjusting, anyone know anything that could be causing this problem?.

could just be tyre pressures if you've not checked already. Or wheel balancing/tracking.

Wheel balance. worn shocks, tracking out, damaged suspension, take your pick.

Is it lowered ?

no its not lowered its standard, done 26000 mls nothings banging or bumping so i dont think its suspention. its still under warrenty till nov but iv been told renault arnt very good with anything like that.

I've found all of my Clios have become twitchy when the tyres have only a few mm before the wear bars - tramlining and generally more reactive to road imperfections at high speed.

Might not be the issue you are having, but could be?

I would get it back to them if its still in warranty.

I should think they at least should do an alignment check for you.

Mine's always been a handful... Renault have checked it in the past. Went to Mark Fish last year for brakes and on a test drive after he called it 'lively'.

are they standrd wheels?
mines crap on 17s!
used to be way better on oe shocks and wheels!

mine did this when i picked it up.

I took it back and got them to redo the alignment and balancing. The report showed the alignment was spot on, but the balancing was miles out!

now its been balanced... i find it a dream to drive round at silly speeds, feels like it can just keep going!

Had that problem with mine when I first got it, turned out to be a properly fucked o/s rear shock
