Surprised there’s not already a thread for this, so thought I’d start one. Post spots of horrific upbadging here.
I’ll start:
I’ll start:
Same with the people who have a TDi Golf R-Line, it's basically the same car... right...The amount of utter mongoloids who call their C30/S40mk2/V50/C70mk2 Volvo an ‘R’ because it has the R-design trim package is absolutely f**king rife. Aside from the fact that there isn’t an R model of those cars, it’s generally not even a fast one either, it’s always the 1.6d owners doing it.
*better engine'My 340i is basically a baby m3, same engine isn't it'
I blame VW for stupid badge choices there though.Same with the people who have a TDi Golf R-Line, it's basically the same car... right...

Sell a smaller engined model with a couple of sport bits and a fancy name to unsuspecting muppets, it works!
Diesels were not really that popular back then though, whereas Golf GTD's are now very common, so VW were ahead of their time.VW we’re doing it on Mk2 Golfs, the GTD never really caught on at the time.
One of my friends brunged a new Fiesta a couple of years back, and in the weeks prior to me seeing it I was told and under the impression it was an ST, only to find it was actually a 5-door ST-Line. I pointed it out (because I couldn't help myself) and he just glazed over, shrugged and said he didn't know what the difference was.
He most definitely should do - his insurance premium alone should tell him what the difference was.One of my friends brunged a new Fiesta a couple of years back, and in the weeks prior to me seeing it I was told and under the impression it was an ST, only to find it was actually a 5-door ST-Line. It's something i have struggled to get my head round for years, it's like sticking an M3 badge on a 320d, what do people actually get out of doing that?
I’ve this thing I’m not sure how long it’s been going on.
People taking the rear seats out the car putting a net that’s used to catch fighter jets with no brakes. and then advertising it as a “clubsport”
