Update of my car

[Rob 88]

Iv got a 1.4 16v with a port polished throttle body, supersprint manifold, decat, custom stainless exhaust, OZ's, Viper, custom elbow... and it must have about 110bhp (same as the 1.6). There ok cars, but your clearly a chav for thinking a 1.4 would keep up with anything bigger than a 1.6. Too much fast and the furious ftl.
My sisters 106 GTI ran at 145bhp and it killed me dead, with everything stripped out of my car. It only makes the car louder. Plus the k4J hates being tuned, any gain possible would be through throttle bodies.
Mines now standard again awaiting my 182 engine

To be fair his car does go very well for a 1.4, dont ask me why but sometimes a cars just quick.

guys your all missing the point. The fella has bonnet lifters, the increased angle on the bonnet incline and subsequent down force promotes silly front end grip allowing even a meager 1.4 to beat an RS of the line. Where have you lot been all these years while these sort of developments have been occurring!!?

The way this thread reads it sounds like you clio wasted the vtr when they both clearly show your almost neck and neck.

Although 1997 vtr= 90bhp and 1999 vtr= 100bhp, so if it was an older one it has less bhp then a 1.4 16v clio. But they weight less i guess

i've just realised something, he's made his wheels smaller, so his speedo would be out, IIRC his speedo would be saying he's going faster than he actually is, so keepin up with a 197 upto 100 peanuts would be a lie, haha we all see thru you!!!

OP: your car would no way keep up with a 1*2 if they were actually trying, and no way could it get up to 120mph, let alone keeping up with a 1*2 up to that speed. in this respect you have made yourself look like a tool. tbf, theres no need for a lot of the sarcastic (unfunny) replies on here

Anyway bottom line is i've seen this car first hand and although im not confirming it can out pace a 2.0 im not denying its quick.

I've seen it at Santa pod blowing the doors off a 1.8 escort and even beat a turbo'd mk1 clio by a car length. Why wud i lie...?

Not even on a bad day would it stay anywhere near an RS, believe me I'v given it a go a fair few times.

mines probably at about 105bhp if that and it simply isn't a fast car. Although it will do 125mph (eventually) but nothing more.
