Upgrading Ph1-172 suspension?

I currently have some red springs. I don't know where they came from, I don't know what make they are. But i bought them cos they were cheap. (off a mechanic in work, £50 fitted)
I've been quite pleased with them, not too crashy, fairly solid through corners etc etc.
Whats are my options? is there a decent 40-50mm drop from some uprated shocks and springs like Koni/spax etc? Or is the only option coilovers?
I really really have no clue with suspension. Ive owned mostly fords in my time, so every one of them were fitted with koni shocks and springs, as they always did exactly what i wanted, but there seems to be no real trend with Clio sports???
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Forget Spax or Gaz regardless.
Apex are quite hard
Personally I'd go for coilovers you can then set the car up how you like height wise FKs are superb value realy £450 I think from john 2 modified on the group buy. H and Rs are much better but £700 or so so much higher priced still worth if it you have the money.

If you don't want to spend that much you cna get JKoni shocks and springs etc which are cheaper and a good setup.

Cheers edde. Do you know how much they lower the car by? But to be honest, if i'm spending 250-300 notes on a Koni shock/spring setup, i may as well put the extra in to get the FK's really hadn't i?

Sounds like you may have PI springs which are very cheap and cheeful.

I have had 2 sets of Gaz coilovers and to be honest they have been fine.
Granted they are a bit hard but its the compromise over the more expensive coilovers.
