uprated 172 front brakes

  '51, 172
had new rear discs and pads on last month (standard) but i know the front ones are nearly ready for changing too in the next few months, want to get some decent ones (with the holes in!! ) is it ok to leave the rear standard and upgrade the front? and also any ideas on prices? suppliers? (discs and pads) thanks.

So are you wanting upgraded brakes or discs and pads?

It's fine put to upgrade the front pads and discs and leave the rears.

why do you want drilled discs? they are more prone to cracking - grooved discs would be better but there's nowt wrong with Brembo HC discs IMO. couple them with braided lines and decent pads (Ferodo DS2500's or Mintex1144's recommended) and Dot 5.1 fluid and job done.

Yozza offer a kit for just over £200

dont know what i want, just some better brakes that dont fade so much as the standard ones, the yozza package sounds good, is there any other package deals anyone can recommend?

I did the same as you. Standard rear discs and pads and got a fast road kit from gdi which included Brembo HC discs, mintex 1144 pads and goodridge braided lines. Absolutely brilliant now! Dont get greenstuff pads though they arent that good, go for mintex 1144 or the DS2500's like above ^^
