Uprated brakes

  220 Trophy, 172 Ph2
Can I put 172 coilovers and brakes on my 1.2 16v 53 plate by changing the whole front and rear wheel assemblies.

I have thought about the conversion and this is my plan.......

For the front just change the whole strut assembly shocker, hub and brake caliper and disc....

And for the rear just change the beam axle with it all on already to go.

I hope somebody has done it already and troubleshooted the problems but I may have miscalculated some problems to come.

rear beam will pop on, but u would need a bigger servo to power, and the drive shaft will not fit the hub

i was going to uprate the fronts and leave the rear as standard

i was thinking of buying the bigger disc set from k-tec any objections or reasons why i should not. is it easy to do

trust me there good enough on the front as stock, my old 1.2 stopped better than my 172. stock pads n stock disks m8

Why do you want 172 coilovers? Might as well chnage the whole engine and gearbox whilst your at it.
1.2 etc coilovers are jsut the same realy no need to go for 172 setup plus 172 setups are different as the front end is much heavier.
The 172 disks still arn't the best ever using the stock 1.2 disks and 4 pot calipers will get you more stopping power and less fade even on track use.
For the rear the 172 axle should fit stright on it now seems the ABS systems are the same. There no need though I much prefere drums on the back.
If you want the brakes to look good stick some ktec big disk conversion on the front they do look good and have a little more stopping power.
