uprated gearbox

hi every1, im new here and looking to buy in to the world of the 172 and ive heard the gearbox is pretty week so i thought id get an uprated 1 but where would i find 1 and how much would it set me back and the other thing is i'd obviously uprate the clutch aswell so can any1 advise a good 1.

Welcome to the site mate

Gearbox is fine unless your running silly bhp and only then is there a question mark over its strength.

All depends on your driving style at the end of the day

i like to push my cars to the limit. wot would i need to get it to run around 250bhp without strapping a turbo to it

Cost you the best part of £2000/2500 to get 230bhp...


I wouldn't worry about the gearbox. If it does go pop, you need to look at your drivin....
