Uprated head gasket?

Are 197 head gaskets the same as the 172/182?

In need of a stronger item for big power build but can only find uprated head gasket for 'Clio F4R' engine. Does anyone else know of companies that supply for the clio?

Could do with a stud kit for the head too, got part No. 216-4301 from ARP for 'clio F4R' again! Will they fit a 197?

Only F4r hg fails I've seen have been from detonation or huge overheating (no water left at all)

Well i like to break the rules.

Block test dye remains blue after testing previous to normal blasts, but after a nitrous blast it turns green. 10 minutes later it will not fail again.

White smoke from launches with nitrous activated and slight loss of coolant. Sounds like the HG to me :(

Oh it definitely sounds link hg, what I mean is, the Gasket itself won't be the cause of the issue, something like the backfire you had, or something in the map

how much nitrous are you running? what's the score with the fueling?

50bhp shot but with controller kicking in a 60% delivery and timed for 6 seconds to 100% the bottles lost most its initial pressure/flow so never actually runs 50bhp, probaly 35-40bhp max. fuelling via STD pump ( 56psi i believe ) through T-piece before fuel rail, running to a fuel specific solenoid that injects with the nitrous, quantities of both matched via flow jets for correct mixture.

Only get white smoke on initial activation, after that all is well. According to a nos expert the head can slightly lift if not sufficiently clamped down and allow combustion gases to escape? I need uprated parts!

So you think an OEM head gasket will suffice?

Can anyone confirm the 182 stud kit will fit the 197?

well the bolts that come out are the same. I've not fitted a set of ARP's but i'm confident it'll be the exact same kit, the head is the same basic casting
