The locking on your car is single point neg pulse. You can pick up the connections on the back of the locking switch on your dash.

The colours should be Mauve for lock and Orange for unlock. But check by using piece of wire and touching them to earth briefly. As Renault have a habit of changing wiring colours.

You can also connect up the indicator flash at the back of the hazard switch.

Found the rear of the swithc and it seemed that only one wire at the rear of the switch opened and closed my doors... so i attatched both wires to that... is this right?? lol
The doors seem to lock and unlock when they should etc.
Ive across one last problem now lol. The siren has a key type switch at the rear of it, but nothing in the instructions address what this switch is for. Im having problems as soon as i turn the switch the siren goes off, even if the module is unpugged from it. I havent wired the siren for battery back-up so im not sure what to do. The only wires i have attatched are the red pos wire to the module white (like it says in the instructions) and the Black earth attatched to the clio chassis (as it also says in the manual). I didnt know if this switch was just some sort of sirent test or something? but if i dont turn the switch and trigger the alarm, the siren doesnt work. Really confused lol.

You must wire up the battery back up. This is the reason the siren is going off when you turn the keyswitch on.

The keyswitch is there so you can turn off the sirens internal battery if you have to disconnect the cars battery.

Not sure what you have done to the locking, but if it works...........

The reason i wired it without the battery back up was because it kept going off then lol. So no matter if its wired with or without it goes off when the key switch is turned. I tried what you said with the C/L wires but none of the other wires at the rear of the switch unlocled the doors except the same wire that locked...

I am not sure from your last post if you have worked out the principle of battery backed up siren. So just to clarify.

If you wire up as per the instructions, then turn the key switch, the siren should only sound if the alarm is triggered.

Its designed to prevent a car thief from bypassing the alarm by simply disconnecting the supply to it.

Sorry, what i meant was i wired the alarm via instructions, but it gave me two choices. One was to wire the siren with batt back up... which i did firstly and had the problem when turning the key. So then i then tried wiring the siren without the battery back up as per instructions again thinking this would solve the problem, but again, when turning the siren switch via the key the alarm keeps going off.
The only other thing i could think of is that the bonnet swith is attatched to my wing... which is plastic, and maybe that needs to be attatched to the chassis of the car, as if i was fitting it to a different car with steel wings the switch would be earthed.. Im unsure if this maybe the problem...
I thought id pick your brains. Really do appreciate this as your all very helpful!..

Its always difficult diagnosing things like this remotely.

If you are sure you have wired it as per instructions, is there a separate wire marked "battery back up" or is it a dip switch option.

Your bonnet switch wont be the problem particularly if its mounted on plastic (it just wont work)

Can you scan and send the wiring diagram

Well i think im going to try and refit the siren and the piezo beeper and see if that makes any difference. Il remount the bonnet switch at a later date once ive got the rest working *fingers crossed*

So far i know the central locking is working... Led wired up.... indicators and the ignition 12v currents.. its just this damn siren thats somehow wired dodgy lol.

At a quick glance it couldn't really be more simple.

I can only assume you have made a basic wiring error on the red and red/white connections or the unit is faulty.
Make sure the red is connectected to a live at all times supply and the red/white is ONLY live when the ignition is ON.

The siren has to be connected to a permanent supply (red) and a good ground (black) and it is triggered by the white wire from the alarm.

You can test if the siren is working properly by connecting it across the battery and turning the switch on. It should chirp once then stay silent. If it doesn't, send it back, its broken....

Fiddled around and rewired the siren and the buzzer... The buzzer had a poor connection which is now fixed, and i re wired all the wires to the siren again... and for some reason it seems to work.. so no complaints this time!!! lol

Ive (temp) bodged my bonnet switch with a hidden wire to an earthing point, well at least until its less cold and windy....

Just want to say a really big thankyou as you have been of great help!!
If ever you are around leicestershire, or see me at a show give me a shout as i owe you a few drinks!!!

Once again cheers!!
