URGENT!!! GearBox oil 172 MK2





My friend is going to buy a Clio 172 MK2 and the car is in the Renault Service Centre. We found that there is oil under the gear box. The seller bring to Renault for service and the Renault people say, that is normal???

What the hell??? Is that normal? What cause that? Is that expensive to fix?

no its not normal to have gearbox oil leaking out. You sure it is leaking though, any pics?
 


As for cost Reno will want £60 to change the gearbox oil :cry:

PS as its only people like us who change the gearbox oil they probably wont have it in stock..............they are having to order mine!

Also loks for slight leakage around the driveshaft seals, on the mk1 clios, one is a wet seal, and one is dry, not sure on the mk2s

if its leaking from where the driveshaft enters the box then its terminal.

my brand new 650miles (when i noticed it!!!) mk2 172 had to have a new box... cost Renault £2450... and that was at warranty rates!!
