urgent help: brake fluid reservoir

  Mk II silver 172
I have only just got my 52 plate 172 and went to check the levels for the first time. problem was i couldnt find the brake fluid reservoir to check the level in it. Looking in the car manual which seems to be generic for all clio models, it suggests it should be at the rear right hand of the engine bay as you look at it between the power steering reservoir and coolant reservoir but its not there. There seems to be some holes which could suggest it should clip there but no sign of it. Now firstly am i looking in the wrong place?(its not hidden or something under the engine cover or anything is it?) or has it fallen off and is lying around in the engine. the secong option seems more far fetched but am worried cos the brakes seem fine but if there is a problem then i dont wanna find that i press the pedal and nothing:(! Any help to get this solved asap would be great thanks

LOL, look down the o/s by the baulkhead (you prob need to take engine cover off to see). its right by the exhaust manifold

You will need to take off the engine cover to access the brake fluid reservoir .Its down the off side just behind the bulk head like Benji&eka says . Its a bit of a sod to unscrew/ screw the cap , try to hold the brake fluid reservoir bottle itself when you undo the cap then put plenty of rags around the hole incase you spill or use a small funnel . Brake fluid is highly flammable ,more flammable than petrol and the exhaust manifold is right below the reservoir so if you have a spill your gonna see some smoke / flames which is not good , lol :S
