Urgent help needed!!

About a month ago I had a problem where my when I tryed to start my car all ignition lights came on and so on, but when you went to turn it over, it just made a "machine gun" type noise. Basicaly put a new starter on, cleaned and replaced the wiring and in the end it turned out to be the battery.

It's been fine for about a month, spot on, not done it once, until today.

Could the new battery I have put on be a dud? Has anyone come across this? Or could something be draining the battery? I have checked all lights and anything I can think of and nothing is on.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks.

Checked all connections tonight and everything seems fine. Could it be possible that the alternator is not charging the battery properly?

Im getting the alternator checked on Thursday to make sure its charging properly.

Any help with this would be great.

Thanks.

if you have a multi meter you can check it your self

just check battery voltage whennot running then start it up an turn on heated screen etc and see if it goes down then back up again

Yes tested this and it works fine. The Alternator is working correctly.

Took it down the garage yesterday. Drop tested the battery and that turned out to be fine. Tested the alternator and that fine. Not under charging or over charging. Checked to see if anything is feeding from the battery. We did this when the engine was hot and cold and both were fine.

before this I have replaced the starter motor, the wiring to it and the battery. The new battery cured it for 4 weeks...

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I have now been told by a mechanic that it could be the imobiliser. But my uncle who is also a mechanic told me that this could have been the case 10 years ago, but highly unlikely with more modern cars. He's taking it to a place in Winsford he uses all the time called Atlantic Performance. He knows a guy there who specialises in Renaults.

I will post the solution up when they find what it is.
