Urgent please!! air bag and service light issue

  172 cup, Exeo st
Hi all,

Been looking through the previous posts and cant find any specific technical help. I have the intermittent air bag and service light issue and it has just failed an MOT as it picked then to come on.
I have cut out the plug from the passenger seat and soldered the cables, strangely they were brown/orange one side and brown/blue the other, not like the other posts said. Thought it had solved the problem but the bloody lights have come on again.
I have just looked under the drivers seat and the grey plug has a lot more wires and I am not sure what to cut and solder.
on 1 side of the plug the wires are 2 x brown, 2 x orange, 1 black and 1 grey. The other side is 1 orange, 1 grey and 2 pairs of brown and blue.

HELP! what do I do please?:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

No Diagnostic machine, just trying something that is quick and easy for me to do before I go down that route

Just found this in another thread:

There is a common problem with Clios with the the SERV and AIRBAG lights come on it usually happened in the first few month but older cars out of the 3 yr warently have had the problem. Its due to the fact that the wires under the seat don't make a good conection and they can give a reading of a resitance over 4 Ohms when they do this it causes the warning light to come on. A simple short term fix is to fiddle with the wires under the seat and the problem will go away.
On the early cars the solution is to look under each of the seats. You will see a grey connector.
On the passenger side disconnect it and cut the Blue and Brown wires off both sides. Then solder the Blue wire to blue, and the Brown to the other brown. Make sure you use insulating sleeves over the soldered connections..
Under the driver seat there are two pairs of wires in the grey connector. Only cut the Blue and Brown wires and solder them together as above. Then reconnect the connector.
On the facelift cars it is ONLY the passenger side connector that is affected.. So again cut and solder the Blue and brown wires.
There is a Renault technical note out though and it will be done under warenty if you car is affected.

Two things I am wondering

1. the wires under my passenger seat were brown/orange and brown/blue, Why?????
2. It says to only cut the blue and brown on the drivers side and solder, they are all on the same side of the plug, is it right to cut and solder them?
