**URGENT** Please help

OK, as if it isnt bad enough that I got kicked out of my house last night by the missus - now the 172 refuses to start too.

What can I do...? Cars been running fine all morning... left it for 10 minutes to speak to someone now it wont even crank?

Immobiliser I suspect?

Im also parked quite close to a mobile phone mast but I park near that every day and has never interfered with the car (as Ive heard rumours that it can). Please help???

I had a problem with mine starting a few weeks ago, tried everything to get it to start. In the end I think it was just a case of turning the ignition on for a minute and leaving it, and then trying to start it.

sounds like immobilizer, u wont be able to do anything if it is.

try pushing it round the side of a building so its shielded from the mast - might work!

Worked for someone a mate of mine knows!

Gripe time!

Firstly, thanks to those who replied. I cant beleive that the title "**Urgent** Please Help" gets 58 views and "Pimp my ride UK" gets nearly 400 views... whats this world coming to??? Who gives a f*ck about pimp my ride UK when theres a fellow Clio Sport owner in trouble? WHERES THE TEAM SPIRIT?

I know that If Id have posted a similar post on the MR2 Roadster forum (of which Im also affiliated!) the advice would have poured in thick and fast. Great club! www.mr2roc.net

Know what the problem was??????????............
+ve terminal of the battery was loose so the damn battery wasnt getting a good feed back from the alternator. RAC tightened it up, jump started it and away she went! Also tested the battery to see if it was in good condition or not and it failed the test so Ive been out and got a new battery for it today... fairly decent Exide battery for £25! BARGAIN!!

the thing is mate when you write urgent... it could be anything. remember that this forum has several different types of clio on so the title urgent isnt specific.... so half the vies you got could have been from valver owners

I KNOW WHERE YOUR COMEING FROM COS IV BEEN PISSED OF FOR THE EXACT SAME REASON BEFORE. BUT MY POINT WAS THAT MORE PPL ARE ON LINE AT MORE REASONABLE TIMES. THATS ALL. IM SURE YOU WOULD HAVE GOT A BETTER RESPONCE IS IT WERE AT 8 OR AROUND. GLAD ITS SORTED.

i think lots of ppl prob missed the post, i mean I look at most recent posts alot, if yours isnt in there anytime im online then i will prob miss it as i dont go through each forum part bit by bit looking at everypost

same with most probably, so lots of posts on top of yours kind of pushed it down and it got forgotten before anyone had seen it

just the way things are sometimes, good job its only battery though, nice simple job, bet rac man was happy with a nice job like that

i had this prob once in my mk 4 golf..i parked up near a mobile phone mast without knowing it...the car just wouldnt turn over every thing was dead.but managed to push it 3..400 yards down the road then it started..think it was something to do with the clifford alarm and immobiliser..point been try to move it away..may help
